I've been trying to keep up with home life and life at the shop. I'm doing ok, but sometimes being a mom to two very active little ones can take over and give you little time for anything else. I have had a chance to put together a few pages though. Simple and easy, especially if you have the right tools. To keep up with the season and pages for the year, I have made two very simple pages using dies and simple cardstocks. The first is a nativity scene page using Prismatic Cardstocks by Bazzill. Pretty simple colors, very neutral. The spacing is made so that a title or journaling can be added across the top, or on the bottom. You might want to try glitter or even real stickles to bring out the stars on the page, especially the one above the manger. I had a 3 year old tugging at my arm while I applied mine and it kind of got wonky, but that's ok. It's not making mistakes, it's making memories...right? So the next layout is a two photo layout using Prismatics papers, sheets from my Prima 6x6 pad, Martha Stewart's Punch around the Page Snow Flurries Punches and a Quickutz die that says Merry Christmas. I used a BoBunny Snowflake stamp (Part of the Snowfall line), and embossed it with some gold embossing powder and just offset the stamp on both sides of the sheet of punched cardstock. I just layered it above a plain darker sheet for contrast. I used the edge punch to add a little more interest on the photo mats, and finally glued on some Prima flowers just because...well, I like flowers. The Snowfall line has jumping deer, large snowflakes, etc., so pretty much you can embellish this as much or as little as you like. I'm more simple, and it's nice to sit down and create a page that is classic and not a whole lotta crazy stuff going on. Have fun getting your albums updated with all your favorite holiday memories!
