December 22, 2011 Stickled Store Projects!

These are made with the little paper bags in the shop.  They come in packs of 25 and are great for candies, little mini cards, small crafting tools as gifts, and mini albums.  There are a million uses for them and I decorate them in many different ways for the holidays.
These will be filled with mini candy canes.
Supplies used:
BoBunny Father Christmas (available in shop)
Black ink
Tim Holtz Rock Candy Clear Crackle
Red Pearl Pen by Viva Decor
White Picket Fence Distress Stain
Stickles

For the first little bag, I used the holly garland stamp.  I colored the pine with a paintbrush using the ink from the inkpad.  I used Evergreen Bough and Iced Spruce.  I painted the greenery first with the Iced Spruce and topped it off with the darker Evergreen Bough on the larger leaves and anywhere I thought the color would look good.  I added little drops of Pearl Pen and then hit that sucker with a heat gun.

The next tag was first stamped with the vintagey looking santa.  Another option would be to stamp the image, then punch with a circle punch...and then foam dot it up on the bag.  I painted in the santa hat and the white of his beard using the red (can't remember the name!) from the Limited Edition Distress Inkpad and the Picket Fence Stain.  I got the tip of the stain bottle juicy and then just pulled the paintbrush over it to collect the paint.  I then put a light coating of Rock Candy crackle over the top, and let dry.  Then I colored it with weathered wood distress ink.  Finally framing the santa with some gold stickles.
Fun.

Items new to the shop...

We are on the verge of a new year.  I love Christmas and it has been so much fun bringing the wonderful season into the shop...but one of my resolutions this year is to try and keep up with my memories as they are happening...and that means, JANUARY----New Year's Page.  FEBRUARY----Valentine's!  I WILL BE PREPARED THIS YEAR!!!!  I have always tried to stay crafty...to share my love for all that is paper with others.  I say to myself most years, how great it would be to get Valentine's out to everyone.  I say how nice it would be to be able to give away little trinkets and mini's.  Christmas is days away and I have yet to mail a handmade card.  Better organization and better planning (hopefully), will help me achieve my goals this year.  I deserve it and so do those I love.  SOOOO, to help me get along in my endeavours, I have ordered some papers and products in the shop to help me keep up.  More are on the way and there are always fun things in the shop to see.  It's a small shop...but full of inspiration.  New papers always help inspire me...The line from Kaiser craft...Sweet Nothings, is definitely going to be a favorite of mine this year!  I can't wait to show you what I make with it.  Come in and see it for yourself.  You will love it!

A few projects to make for the holidays...

So here are a few projects made in the shop this month.  If you keep up with me on Facebook, you'll see these as they post.  Some are great, some are just downright terrible...but you gotta do what makes you happy.  If you are at least doing what you love, than none of the time you spent doing it will have been wasted.  I am proud of everything I make.  I am even proud to say that yeah, some of it's not the best.  But I know that while I was making it, I had a smile on my face and nothing in the world was troubling.  I got to enjoy myself.  It's hard learning to take time for yourself...but you deserve it.  The housework can wait.  Until you are wearing your prom dress from 1995 and a swimsuit bottom as underwear because you've put your laundry off for far too long...just create.  Merry Christmas!  I can't believe the season is almost over.  I need to catch up on everything from cards to pages, but no rush.  That's what crops are for...catching up.
