Oh...poor blog.  I'm here, you're not totally forgotten!  The shop is still the same as usual, only the products change.  All the information for the shop is posted daily on the Facebook Page---Stickled Pink, LLC.  I know there are still some that choose not to use facebook...I don't blame you.  It's a life sucker.  I have posted quite a bit on the page lately with some projects and I hope soon to link it all to YouTube with some videos.  The holidays can be a busy time of year...time for family (if you're lucky), time for friends, (if you're lucky)...and time for giving (and you are lucky if you can do that wholeheartedly), and it is also a time of reflection.  For me at least.  My kids are growing older, my home is becoming more and more worn in by the day.  My hair a little bit more grey each time I look in the mirror...I think to myself, "time flies by way too fast".  If anyone knows the recipe to slow time down please tell me...I'll buy bags and bags of sugar and flour, I'll put on a baking hat and even measure stuff...I just need a little bit of time to catch up.  Maybe I can do that after Christmas :).
Recently something happened at a school in Connecticut.  A terrible, senseless thing that took many children away from their parents, way too soon.  Futures were ended before they even began and it makes me think more of my life and what I'd like for my babies.  I just want them to live without fear, to enjoy things blindly like I did when I was their age.  I know realities, I just had never thought that when I had children of my own that the reality would be that they don't live in the world I know.  They don't live in a world where street lamps rule your playtime.  They don't live where Pac Man was the coolest thing ever.  I know what it is like to go to school without worry of anything other than possibly getting a "C"...and lordy forbid, a "D".  That's what you worried about.  Grades.  Who you were going to sit with at lunch.  Not about someone coming through the door that didn't belong.    I hope this holiday season Santa brings some peace to the parents and family members who's realities have changed so drastically in a flip of a switch.  I hope for them, the recipe for forgiveness and strength.  I wish that they will get some hope.  To everyone, that is what I have best wishes for...hope and love this holiday season.  Merry Christmas!!

CLASS SCHEDULE REMINDER:::::GET IN ON IT!

This months classes are starting to fill.  If you haven't seen them yet, take a look...First up is this weekend's 20 layouts for $48.  Make 20 seasonal pages and embellish them all while chillin' out with friends.  It's always laid back and you are more than welcome to add your own "flair" to any class.  The pages include complimenting photo mats with coordinating cardstock, some stickles...spellbinders shapes and the best part?  You don't need to bring any tools or supplies to complete.  You pop in, you make it and ya go.  The embellishments will be created using the store's many many cool toys.  Stuff like, oh...nearly any and every Martha Stewart punch available.  I have all of the new punch around the page punches to help you give the pages your own spice.  There will also be Slice Machines, Cricut, and many of the newest die cuts.  You will have access to ribbons, buttons...baker's twine....just lots of fun to help you create...or, you can always leave it designed as it is.  Many if not all of the pages are already complete, all you need to do is add your photos.  This class takes place on Saturday, I'll need to know if you plan on attending no later than this Friday, Sept. 7th, 2012.  You can text or call to sign up...843-670-1676.  Below are the base layouts with some sample photo placements.  After Saturday, I will post the completed album fully embellished.  Hope to see you there!  Thanks.

HELLO!  So, the shop has been lonely lately.  Not for lack of customers...but for lack of ME!  I've been out a lot.  My daughter started school....I have had some boo boos and have taken time to rest and get my shizzle all workin' right.  And things are good!!  Today however, marks a new month.  New and fun things happening both personally and for the store and I can't wait to share them with you.  You can always find out the current happenings by signing on to Facebook and liking the store page, but if Facebook isn't for you, you can text or email me your email address and I can get the info out to you that way.  First up, the 20 Layout Base Page...September 2nd is sold out, however there are openings for the September 8th class.  The Layouts are easily altered to fit your photos and specific needs.  The class is only $48...imagine, getting a complete album completed in 3 hours!!!  It's a great way to get caught up on your seasonal scrapbooking as well as to come and spend time with other people who enjoy your interests.  The next class is the Curiosity Shop Tray!  Deb Thomson has created another gem and she's going to be showing you how to make a wonderful keepsake using Graphic 45's Curiosity Shop papers.  It's a beautiful gift item or home decor piece.  You can find more information about it on her blog: Debspaperjourney.blogspot.com  She's got a lot of beautiful things on her blog, check it out when you have a chance.  Another thing going on later on in the month for the shop is CRAFT NIGHT!!!  Everyone is invited to Craft Night.  The first meet up will be September 23rd, Sunday, at 4pm.  We will be making some projects using Inkadinkado's new Gears Stamping System.  Look it up on YouTube.  Wonderful wonderful new stamping toy!  It's great for everything from cards to Layouts...home decor and more!!  All products sold during Craft Night are going to be at a great discount.  If you like the craft that night, you can go home with the products too...30% off to be exact!!!  I'll put up more information about that the sooner we come to it.  I'm really looking forward to it.  I will also be hosting a new ATC swap each month.  I know, I know...there are several out there---but this is a new kind, some fresh blood into the mix!!!  Monthy, I will choose a product, most likely a stamp set.  The items chosen will be sold at an extreme discount...if you like what you see, you purchase the stamp and join in the swap.  What the swap is meant to do, is show the many different ways that stamps can be altered.  You can not only put your own spin on it, but also grow your stash at uncomparable prices.  I'm really excited for that.  Take care and hope to see you in the shop soon!
Thanks.

I forget I have a blog...no seriously, I do.  I am a Facebook Junkie...I update that daily.  Sometimes all I have time for is Facebook.  I do it from my phone...I do it when I'm flipping through the emails I get for the store.  It's so much easier.  But I do realise the importance of a blog.  Not everyone is as big of a fan of Facebook as I am.  So, I'm here.  I'm posting.  I just need to get a tip or a trick and some pics up to make this blog bloggy again.  It's August, a whole new month!  I'm excited for this month.  My daughter Rheagan goes back to school on the 20th, CHA just ended and all the fun new goods will be out soon and ready to ship.  I have been working on some classes for the store and I really hope that you like what you see coming up.  For now, find me on Facebook...just to see what's been done in the store lately.  It's been quite a bit.  And of course, it's always nice to get a new "LIKE".

December 22, 2011 Stickled Store Projects!

These are made with the little paper bags in the shop.  They come in packs of 25 and are great for candies, little mini cards, small crafting tools as gifts, and mini albums.  There are a million uses for them and I decorate them in many different ways for the holidays.
These will be filled with mini candy canes.
Supplies used:
BoBunny Father Christmas (available in shop)
Black ink
Tim Holtz Rock Candy Clear Crackle
Red Pearl Pen by Viva Decor
White Picket Fence Distress Stain
Stickles

For the first little bag, I used the holly garland stamp.  I colored the pine with a paintbrush using the ink from the inkpad.  I used Evergreen Bough and Iced Spruce.  I painted the greenery first with the Iced Spruce and topped it off with the darker Evergreen Bough on the larger leaves and anywhere I thought the color would look good.  I added little drops of Pearl Pen and then hit that sucker with a heat gun.

The next tag was first stamped with the vintagey looking santa.  Another option would be to stamp the image, then punch with a circle punch...and then foam dot it up on the bag.  I painted in the santa hat and the white of his beard using the red (can't remember the name!) from the Limited Edition Distress Inkpad and the Picket Fence Stain.  I got the tip of the stain bottle juicy and then just pulled the paintbrush over it to collect the paint.  I then put a light coating of Rock Candy crackle over the top, and let dry.  Then I colored it with weathered wood distress ink.  Finally framing the santa with some gold stickles.
Fun.
